Literature Text

Click-clack, keys typing away. My fingers are waves of emotions, the screen, the shore they crash upon.  Words that are not words, feelings that are not feelings, all of them come together, erasing the blankness of the page.

Sadness, anger, uncertainty, regret, all shadowed by the smiles that are forced through the mask.  Tears are wiped away before they become anything more, after all, no one notices those things, right?

Counting stars through my window, staring out into the frosty night, I live in a different world, one that I can only dream of.  My only solitude resides in my sleepless imagination, until the dawn breaks.

Memories of the past, residing in the present, litter this lonely path I walk.  Waiting for my wings to be born, but will they hold up my tattered soul?

I promise to hold my head high, and smile for you each and every day, it’s the least I can do for causing you so much pain.  I will shield you from all things that will bring up the past, if only you would smile back.

You push me away, but expect me to stay near, but why?  I only want to stay by your side, but the pain is too great.  Why can’t you love me, if only enough to see my true side?

In the middle of the pouring rain, I whisper, then shout, of all my pain and tears.  I know that if some one hears me it’ll be all right, but no one’s there.  And so I stand here, waiting, waiting, for a distant stranger.

Click-clack, keys typing away. These are my hearts words, hear them now.  Words that are now words, feelings that are now feelings, all of them come together, erasing the blankness of the page.
Other poem i wrote for class that i wanted to put up
